A lot has been happening the past couple of weeks. The $1.776 billion slush fund that Trump created to give bribes to loyalists has temporarily been blocked by the U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema. This temporary block restricts the DOJ from creating, funding or dispersing money from this fund, with a full hearing scheduled for June 12. The Supreme Court has a full plate as they look to wrap up over twenty cases by the end of June, including Trump’s birthright citizenship order, state bans on transgender athletes, the president's power to fire agency heads and more. And the atrocities that are happening at Delaney Hall Detention Facility remain front and center as ICE agents pepper-spray the press and protestors, including US Senator Andy Kim. The deplorable conditions of Delaney have prompted a hunger and labor strike, followed by solidarity protests outside the building. Unfortunately, Delaney is not the only immigration concentration camp in the country, but it’s reminding us that we must continue to demand no more funding to ICE to torture other human beings.
Our action items this week continue to focus on the defunding of ICE and ending the Iran war, with ways to get involved both from home and in-person, along with some fun and uplifting events coming up in our local communities. We hope to see you!

March with us in the Cleveland Pride (and help show off the Preamble)

You might have heard about the We the People of Ohio tour, led by our dynamic Arts Committee and featuring a giant hand-painted original artwork of the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. Its multi-city tour of Ohio will be capped off at the Pride in the CLE parade on June 6, after which it heads to Washington D.C. for July 4th.
To pull this off, we need a ton of volunteers to carry the banner, hold the poles, set up our space on the Mall at the end of the route and bring the energy. Whether you want a physical role or just want to march alongside us in costume or with props, there's a place for you.

Let your House representatives know you oppose anymore tax dollars going to ICE
Delaney Hall is a brutal reminder of what ICE and Border Patrol are capable of. While the Senate has passed the $70 billion reconciliation bill funding immigration enforcement without doing anything about Trump's slush fund, it still needs to pass the House. Call your representatives now and demand they vote NO on the reconcilliation bill. You can email them too!
Tell Congress to end the illegal war in Iran
We are now more than 90 days past the start of the illegal Iran war. Talks of negotiations continue to stall, as the U.S. continues to strike. At least 13 American service members have died and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, impacting roughly 20 percent of global oil flows. While the House passed the War Powers Resolution directing Trump to end unauthorized military hostilities in Iran, it now heads to the Senate. Keep telling your senators that they must act to end this war that Trump and Israel launched or blood is on their hands too. Send an email through the link, then call your senators.
Demand Congress block FISA reauthorization until Pulte is removed
Trump has appointed Bill Pulte - a private equity investor with zero national security experience — as acting Director of National Intelligence, putting him in charge of 18 intelligence agencies. Pulte previously used his position at the Federal Housing Finance Agency to launch investigations against Trump's political opponents using mortgage data. Handing him access to the nation's entire intelligence apparatus is a dangerous escalation.
Here's the leverage: a key surveillance law, FISA Section 702, expires in nine days and requires Congressional reauthorization. Indivisible is urging Members of Congress to refuse reauthorization until this appointment is reversed. Contact your representatives now and demand they use every tool available to block this power grab.

Gather 10 signatures and support the effort to ban large data centers in Ohio
Conserve Ohio (the good folks behind the Ban Data Centers petition effort) is calling on all of us to gather 10 signatures from our friends and neighbors. Head over to https://conserveohio.com/ where you can download and print petitions directly. You’ll also find talking points, complete instructions for gathering and submitting your signed petitions along with details on where to sign. Please act fast - there’s less than a month left to gather 413,000 signatures statewide.
Join the efforts to end discrimination for ALL in Ohio
The Ohio Constitution does not contain an Equal Rights Amendment and still includes a ban on same-sex marriage. This means that Ohioans are not constitutionally protected from discrimination by our State and local governments because of race, sex, pregnancy status, sexual orientation, disability, or other attributes. Instead, we must rely on an ever-changing, unreliable legislature to protect our rights. Additionally, marriage equality is only guaranteed by federal protections, and could be lost in the state if overturned federally.
Ohio Equal Rights is looking to change that but they need your help gathering signatures in support of two proposed amendments: The Ohio Equal Rights Amendment and The Ohio Right to Marry Amendment.
