When Biden left the White House, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline was $3.10. Now that average has shot up to nearly $4.50.
Of course, that spike is due to the ongoing crisis caused by the ill-considered and ill-prepared military strikes against Iran. According to a CNN poll announced last week, a full 76% of respondents said that the war wasn’t worth the deaths and the economic toll that we are paying.
And yet there is no end in sight for this conflict, as just a few days ago the White House occupant refused Iran’s latest ceasefire proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to oil tankers. In fact, just a few days ago he threatened to “annihilate” Iran while speaking at an assembly of the United Nations.
And both our senators voted against a resolution to withdraw our military forces, which has already been approved by the House.
This obstinance from our senators shows how important it is to rally our friends and family to vote this November. Numerous efforts to get out the vote are ongoing: face-to-face canvassing, phone banking, postcard writing and more. Our action list below continues to focus on these efforts.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration can release “SAVE”, a national database that state and local officials can use to purge its voter rolls. This database includes citizenship information, Social Security numbers and other sensitive data compiled from federal agencies.
Implementation of the database had been blocked by federal judge Sparkle Sooknanan, who declared in a memorandum opinion that: “the agencies were scrambling to comply with an Executive Order aimed at reshaping federal elections, which directed them to create a system for mass voter verification. So they haphazardly combined and repurposed the private information of millions of Americans, including citizenship data that they knew to be unreliable.”
Given this reckless response to the wildly exaggerated threat of voter fraud, it’s more important than ever to be vigilant in safeguarding our right to vote. You can check your voter registration status using the website Vote4Ohio.

Do you have a finance background? Indivisible NEO is looking for help
When we began this endeavor back in 2025, we only needed one treasurer to help us manage our Act Blue account. As you may know, Indivisible is a 501 (c)(4) and they've changed requirements for groups. We are currently looking for someone to serve as an Assistant Treasurer to help our current Treasurer. The time commitment only takes about an hour or so each month. If you have a financial background and are interested in helping out, please email us. Training and support will be provided.

Check your voter registration
Everyone in Ohio needs to check their voter registration starting on Sept. 29, 2026, and re-register by Oct. 5th if purged. In 2023, the Ohio government purged 26,000 Ohioans who hadn't voted in two cycles on Sept. 27, 2023, so they only had a few days to discover the purge and then re-register. Check your registration and make sure you are eligible to vote on Nov. 3.
