Democracy Do-List

A curated list of actions to take this week to protect democracy.

Indivisible NEO

Now that the dust has settled on the single largest day of peaceful protest in American history - that YOU made possible - you might be wondering what's next. Indivisible National (and iNEO) have you covered with plenty of ways to build on the momentum generated by No Kings. Click on any of the actions below to learn more.

Action List

The future of the No Kings Alliance and what you can do

In the recent What's Next Call, the formation of the No Kings Alliance was announced, a continuation of the coalition that made No Kings 2 possible. This alliance, that includes 50501, Working Families Party and of course, Indivisible, lays the groundwork for the kind of coordinated widespread action we need to create a "nationwide culture of defiance." Every Wednesday they'll be updating calls to action at nokings.org/next that respond to the most pressing issues that day or week.

What you can do now:
  1. Bookmark the No Kings Alliance weekly calls to action. Get in a routine of checking the page every Wednesday by setting a reminder on your phone or through your calendar app to help make this a habit.

  2. Learn your rights. Spend some time educating yourself and others on your rights. There are resources to ensure you know how to prepare for a protest and what to do when you or your neighbors are faced with federal agents or law enforcement. You can also download the KYR card to print and start handing out in your community.

  3. If you haven't already, share your No Kings story on social media. Click here for additional guidance on what to post.

Put pressure on Republican senators to stand up to President Trump

President Trump and congressional Republicans have spent the past nine months selling out working families in order to give tax breaks to their billionaire friends. Now they're dragging out the government shutdown and forcing federal workers to go without pay by refusing to negotiate with Democrats on a funding bill that stops President Trump's healthcare cuts and price increases.

Text "SHUTDOWN" to 30403 to be connected with your senators through Working Families Party and put pressure on Republican senators to stand up to President Trump to deliver a healthcare victory for working people.

If you have a GOP representative, tell them to seat Adelita Grijalva and stop the Epstein cover up

Grijalva won her special election to Congress more than a month ago, but Speaker Johnson is refusing to swear her in, likely because she's the last signature needed to force a vote on the Epstein Files. Email your rep to remand they put pressure on Johnson.

Cancel your Spotify account

Spotify is making big money off of ICE recruitment ads (so are YouTube, HBO, Hulu and Pandora). Despite swift public backlash and artists pulling their music from their service, Spotify is standing firm in their decision to help facilitate the militarization of our communities and disappearance of our neighbors. While it doesn't fix everything, canceling Spotify is about making a statement of our economic power and our willingness to use it to the powers that be. For the people asking for a national strike, the act of canceling Spotify or Hulu primes the movement to take a much bigger, more consequential action when the timing is right. We won't go from zero to total economic disruption overnight. We have to get comfortable making these kinds of sacrifices as an essential part of resisting this regime and the powers that capitulate to it.

Get more involved with iNEO

We have a number of opportunities for you to become more engaged, no matter your interests or capacity to help. Review your options below.

  • Make regular calls to elected officials. This is perfect for anyone who is unable or limited in their ability to attend actions in person and can be done on your own time. Plus, there's good evidence that it works. We're in the process of forming an accountability group on the Signal app that will issue daily CTAs for contacting your elected officials. Calls to our officials have dropped off substantially since the early months of the regime and we can't allow our silence to be construed as complicity. This working group is designed to get us back on track by prioritizing the issues and officials where we can make the most impact and providing accountability and community. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please fill out this form and we can notify you when this group launched.

  • Join our Westside Indivisible NEO pod formed out of One Million Rising to canvas Cleveland area businesses as part of the Signs of Solidarity campaign. You'll go on foot in a small group asking business owners to pledge to stand with their immigrant employees by placing signs of solidarity in their windows and designating a private area for employees that ICE cannot legally enter without a signed judicial warrant.

  • Join and help build our rapid response team. We need members who are able to quickly mobilize in response to ICE activities, local appearances by our elected officials and other last minute or covert actions. We also need help identifying these opportunities through news and social media monitoring.

  • Join our communications team. Help manage our digital channels, write content for our newsletter and social media posts to keep our community calendar up to date. Learn more.

  • Join our Arts Committee. Whether or not you consider yourself an artist, our Arts Committee is a great opportunity to merge your creative skills with the fight against fascism. This dynamic group includes crafters, designers, programmers, ceramicists, painters and content creators, but is open to anyone with a creative spirit. To learn more, click here.

Donate to a local food bank

As many as 200,000 Cuyahoga County residents could lose their SNAP benefits if the shutdown continues into November. This increases the burden of Cleveland's already underfunded emergency food providers, thanks to cuts at both the federal and state level earlier this year.

We launched a fundraiser this week in partnership with the Hunger Network to raise $2,600 by November 24, 2025, to support their work. Donations in any amount are appreciated and will go a long way towards helping your neighbors. Click here to donate. If you'd prefer to make an in-person donation, please bring your non-perishable food items to one of our upcoming meetings.
