About the event
Our Demands for May 1st - No more war. Billions for war and genocide profiteers, while private prisons expand and schools close. - Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes and the war, come first. - Abolish ICE. No private armies terrorizing our neighborhoods.
Labor is the source of all wealth, and entitled to all it creates. So we are showing our unity through a day of No Work No School No Shopping.
We know that there are too many without the freedom to exercise these actions safely and securely yet, and that's why we organize from now until we mark International Workers Day, May 1st, through action and community.
Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to collective safety through nonviolent action. International Workers Day has historically been targeted, indeed May Day's roots lie in Haymarket Square. We encourage all participants to seek to de-escalate potential confrontation.
